Both Kelsey and William performed with consummate artistry; the program consisted of rare gems of the accompanied clarinet repertoire (as well as a few solos by either artist), augmented by informative and entertaining commentary on those works. I have since gone to hear Black Dog Duo as often as I can.

Kelsey and William are not merely virtuoso musicians but also charmed their audience with their erudite and humorous presence. I count myself extremely fortunate to have hosted them two times at my house. They presented a well-prepared and wide-ranging concert. Black Dog Duo is full of energy and fun-loving. The music is phenomenal. Kelsey plays the clarinet like I have never heard before. William is fantastic on piano. They play a wide range of different styles of music. If you get the chance to see them and don’t go, you have missed out on a fantastic night of music. I only wish I had heard them sooner, as they are moving away and I won’t get another chance, unless they tour.
